Dr. Carla Fisher has practiced medicine for over 20 years and dermatology for more than 16 years, bringing extensive experience and a comprehensive approach to patient care. Her practice encompasses general dermatology, surgical treatment of skin cancers, and cosmetic dermatology, allowing her to address the full spectrum of her patients’ skin health needs.
Dr. Fisher received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology and her graduate degree in physiology from the University of California, Riverside. She then attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland, graduating in 1986. She completed her internship in family practice medicine at Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, California, and the flight surgery program at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida.
Distinguished Military Career and Dermatology Expertise
Dr. Fisher served her country with distinction, completing two tours as a naval flight surgeon and becoming one of the first women to deploy on an aircraft carrier throughout the Pacific. She returned to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda to complete her dermatology residency program, subsequently serving as Chief of Dermatology at the Naval Hospitals at Great Lakes, Illinois, and Bremerton, Washington, before completing her distinguished naval career.
Understanding that effective doctor-patient communication results in better cure rates, disease prevention, and patient satisfaction, Dr. Fisher values each patient’s individual needs and concerns. Her compassionate, thorough approach has earned her the trust of countless patients throughout her career.
Dr. Fisher returned to private practice in Petaluma, California, where she continues to enjoy building long-term relationships with her patients and providing exceptional dermatologic care to the community.
