Medical Dermatology

We diagnose and treat the complete spectrum of skin disorders. We treat acne, rosacea, warts, diagnose rashes and screen for skin cancer.

ACNE

Sometimes over the counter products just don’t cut it. We can prescribe a variety of topical and oral prescriptions including Accutane for those who need it. Our aestheticians can perform acne facials and peels to complement your treatment regimen.

ECZEMA

This common rash can really alter one’s quality of life. We can help you navigate the variables that are potentially exacerbating your eczema and help you find the correct treatments that work for your particular case. We can perform allergic contact dermatitis patch testing if an allergen is suspected. We also offer narrow-band UVB phototherapy for those who can benefit.

ALLERGIC CONTACT DERMATITIS

Sometimes people develop an allergy to commonly used skin care products or other everyday items like metals, latex, fragrances, preservatives, adhesives and dyes. When suspected, we perform allergic contact dermatitis patch testing to try to identify the offending allergen.

MOLES, SPOTS AND LESIONS

If a mole is changing or there is a new growth that you are concerned about, we are happy to help. Most lesions are visually obvious to us, but if there is a doubt, we can perform a biopsy to clarify the diagnosis.

PSORIASIS

Over the past 20 years, the one dermatological condition that has probably benefited the most from research and pharmaceutical development is psoriasis. We have come to understand this autoimmune condition with greater clarity and have observed and participated in the development of the newer injectable medications that you may have seen in the media. Additionally, like with eczema, we also perform phototherapy for those who can benefit.

SKIN CANCER SCREENING

With the depletion of the ozone layer, skin cancer has become the most common cancer in our population. We diagnose and treat skin cancer daily. Our dermatologists and PAs routinely perform Total Body Skin Exams to screen for melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

ROSACEA

This adult form of acne can be treated with a variety of creams and pills. Additionally, if there are broken vessels or telangiectasia, we can use lasers to help decrease the redness.

ACTINIC KERATOSES

We see these precancerous lesions on a daily basis. They are important to treat as they are precursor lesions to develop into non-melanoma skin cancer.

There are different treatment options including liquid nitrogen, Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), topical Efudex 5-fluorouracil cream, imiquimod cream, laser resurfacing and curettage. We can help you choose the appropriate treatment for your needs.

RASHES

There are many types of skin rashes like poison oak, hives, folliculitis, seborrheic dermatitis and pityriasis rosea. We can help you diagnose and treat those strange red bumps.
